Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The next phase of the reconstruction of Tashkent's international airport has begun, with work starting this week to expand the arrival hall.
As a result, the exit to the left of the terminal has been closed, and now arriving passengers will exit directly from the building. To ensure safety during construction, a temporary canopy will be erected, while the meeting area will continue to operate as usual.
According to the project, the area of the arrival terminal will increase by 2,500 square meters due to the forward extension of the building's facade. Currently, the arrival hall covers 5,300 square meters.
As part of this stage, two additional baggage carousels will be installed, and a spacious area for meeting passengers will be created inside the terminal.
The work is expected to be completed by May 2025. After that, the final phase of the reconstruction will begin, during which the departure and arrival terminals will be integrated. This will create a large airport complex with a capacity of 2,400 passengers per hour.
