Ravshan, Subkhiddin share tips
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The AFC Project Future Referees (PF) Batch 2009 had the golden opportunity of meeting two of the top referees in Asia, Subkhiddin Mohd Salleh of Malaysia and Uzbek Ravshan Irmatov.

The South African World Cup 2010 referees were in Kuala Lumpur to share their experiences with the young referees during the six-day Final Development Course which ended on Tuesday.

Subkhiddin and Ravshan were with the participants in two slots, in the classroom and during a practical session on the field of play.

Subkhiddin spoke about how he started as a referee and rose to the top of the world as well as about the ups and downs as a referee and how he never let the negative moments set him back.

“I’ve always strived to get better and rise above the obstacles to success,” he said.

The Malaysian also mentioned about his humble beginnings and those who motivated him and said it was important for referees to be able to communicate in English.

Ravshan shared how he organised his life and divided his time between family and his devotion to refereeing.

“Discipline in every aspect of one’s daily life is important if you aim for the top”, he said. “Referees should constantly train and upgrade themselves to be in top shape and be always prepared to handle any game at any level.”

The three-time AFC Referee of the Year also shared how he prepared for games mentally and physically.

The PF referees graduated from the two-year elite development programme during a ceremony at AFC House on Tuesday.
