The ambitious Asian club, now managed by former Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari, already boast Brazilian legend Rivaldo among their squad and are keen to add further star players to boost their status.

Raul’s current contract at the Bernabeu expires in 2011 and according to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, the player’s agent has been approached about a future move.

However, the 32-year-old remains as dedicated as ever to the club he has spent his entire career with, rebuffing Bunyodkor’s approach.

"I am grateful of the proposition but my place is at Real Madrid," Raul said in El Confidencial.
