Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The reconstruction of the Qoqand airport has been completed in the Fergana region.
On the morning of 20 March, the air harbor received its first technical flight - the crew of the A-320 NEO aircraft of Uzbekistan Airways landed at Qoqand airport.
The reconstruction of the regional airport included the extension of the runway to 2000 meters and the creation of two parking lots for aircraft of the A-320 and ATR-72-600 types.
A new passenger terminal with an area of 900 square meters, designed for 100 people, was also built.
A technical flight on the route Tashkent - Qoqand, performed by experienced pilots of Uzbekistan Airways, demonstrated the readiness of the airfield to receive and dispatch aircraft, as well as the readiness of the terminal to serve passengers.
The start of regular flights is scheduled for 1 April 2024.
