Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Qatar Airways plans to open flights to Bukhara and Samarkand. This was announced by Marwan Koleilat, senior vice president of the eastern region of Qatar Airways.
He noted that Tashkent has become a new point in the company’s route network. “We are confident that this new route will not only strengthen ties between Qatar and Uzbekistan, but will also open doors for business, tourism and cultural exchange,” Marwan Koleilat said.
Passenger flights on the Doha-Tashkent-Doha route will be carried out four times a week - on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays on Airbus A320 aircraft, he noted.
In the future, the airline is considering both increasing the frequency of flights to Tashkent to 7 per week, and launching flights to Bukhara and Samarkand, Koleylat added.
Today Qatar Airways operated its first flight from Doha to Tashkent. The flight time was 3 hours.
Qatar Airways is the national airline of Qatar, headquartered in Doha, flying to more than 170 destinations around the world. It has received numerous prestigious awards and has been named "World's Best Airline" seven times by Skytrax.
