Public Ministry helps to return “donations” of teachers to football club

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Control-legal service of the Ministry of Public Education revealed that about 272.15 million soums of donations were attracted from teachers of Jizzakh region to strengthen financial-technical base of the local football club.

On 2 November 2018, khokim of Jizzakh region ordered to create a national charity hashar on 3-4 November to support football club “Sogdiana”. The local governor ordered that employees of local departments and organizations should voluntarily transfer one day salary to the account of the football club.

Employees of public education sector of the region directed 272.15 million soums to support of the football club.

The decision of the governor violated the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On additional measures to eliminate mandatory law in Uzbekistan” on 10 May 2018.

The document said that national charity hashars are organized on decision of the President or Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

The governor of Jizzakh region abolished his decision from 2 November. Currently, the work is carried our to return illegally collected financial resources.
