Public Education Ministry and DELL discuss creation of IT infrastructure for schools

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of DELL led by the company’s general director in Kazakhstan and Central Asia Nurlan Sadykov visited the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek ministry said in a statement.

The guests were informed about the reforms, carried out in the field of education in Uzbekistan. It was noted that the leadership of Uzbekistan set the task of introducing modern information technologies into the public education system.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between the parties in the digitalization and development of information technology in schools of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that out of about 9,700 schools in Uzbekistan, only 35% have modern computer equipment and about 10% have access to high-speed Internet. The head of Uzbekistan set the task to equip all schools of the country with computers and provide access to the Internet within three years.

Nurlan Sadykov spoke about Dell’s experience in introducing e-classes and libraries, as well as creating an intranet for students in schools in Kazakhstan. He noted that the company is ready to share its experience in creating an IT infrastructure for school institutions in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to work out issues of establishing cooperation for the creation of a modern IT infrastructure in schools of Uzbekistan.
