The protocol was signed on 1 July 2014 in Bern, Switzerland, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

The document envisages introduction of changes to the agreement and its protocol, which are directed at expanding mechanism of information exchange in tax sphere to prevent evasion from tax payment.

The contents of the protocol comply with international practice, OECD standards and require submission of special requests, which should meet several requrements.

The protocol will help to strengthen Uzbek-Swiss cooperation in fighting tax violations and ensure adherence to tax legislations of two states.
