Prospective telecommunications projects discussed with NEC Vice President
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025, held in Barcelona, Spain, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, met with Takashi Sato, Vice President of NEC Corporation.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed the further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in the telecommunications sector. In particular, proposals were considered for expanding new networks and establishing additional internet channels in partnership with Uzbektelecom JSC.
Additionally, the sides exchanged views on projects funded by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and other Japanese financial institutions aimed at further developing Uzbekistan’s telecommunications infrastructure.
