Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 6 August, a press conference was held at the Uzbekistan Football Association building, dedicated to the preparation and high-level organization of the Futsal World Cup. The event gathered media representatives and the general public.
The press conference was attended by representatives from the Tourism Committee and members of the Organizing Committee from the Uzbekistan Football Association. The event began with a video presentation aimed at promoting the competition.
“During this prestigious first-ever championship to be held in our country, we plan to effectively use this opportunity to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism on the international stage. Special attention was given to ensuring that any foreign viewer would have an initial impression of Uzbekistan from the video. In other words, relying on our national traditions, the futsal championship has been combined with the tourism potential of our country,” noted Aziz Maksumov, a responsible representative of the Tourism Committee.
The championship will feature 24 of the world’s strongest teams. 39 referees will officiate 52 matches, with 27 taking place in Tashkent, 17 in Bukhara, and 8 in Andijan. Hundreds of journalists and bloggers from five continents will also cover the championship. Tens of thousands of fans are expected to arrive to support their teams.
Currently, all cities hosting the matches are reviewing tourist service conditions. Historical cities such as Samarkand, Khiva, Kokand, and Shakhrisabz are also prepared to welcome the influx of tourists.
