Presidents of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan to discuss cooperation issues
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov held a telephone conversation with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguli Berdymuhamedov on 18 October 2011.

During the talk, Islam Karimov and Gurbanguli Berdymuhamedov discussed priority directions of the Uzbek-Turkmen cooperation and affirmed intention of two states to deepen and expand fruitful relations in all directions.

In this context, underlining constructive character of intergovernmental political dialogue, the sides underlined existence of solid potent and opportunities for intensification of trade-economic partnership, optimal implementation of which meet interest of two brother nations.

Presidents also exchanged opinion on actual regional and international issues, representing mutual interest.

Speaking role of humanitarian-cultural cooperation in relations of two states, the Presidents called for gradual expansion of contacts in this area.

Turkmen President invited his Uzbek colleague to visit Turkmenistan in any convenient time. Uzbek President accepted the invitation. The terms of the visits will be agreed through diplomatic channels.

Using the opportunity, Presidents congratulated each other with upcoming Eid al-Adha, which symbolizes high spiritual-moral values.

At the end of the talks, the sides expressed assurance that the Uzbek-Turkmen cooperation will successfully develop in future as well.

Islam Karimov and Gurbanguli Berdymuhamedov also wished strong health and success and peace, happiness and well-being to people of two states.
