Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan visit GM Powertrain Uzbekistan

The guests familiarized with production capacities and potential of the joint venture, UzA reported.

GM Uzbekistan, SamAvto and JV MAN Auto – Uzbekistan produce cars and trucks, buses, special transport, spare parts and components.

General Motors Powertrain Uzbekistan produces engines for cars produced at GM Uzbekistan. It is the only engine producer in the Central Asian region.

The enterprise is equipped with high technological equipment, including equipment for melting and casting, thermal processing of alumina, processing of cylinder blocks, etc. The technological process is computerized, which allows to continuously monitor quality of products, and fully meet international environmental standards. The products are used not only in Uzbekistan, but also in the plants abroad, which are part of GM network.

This is the first plant of General Motors, where casting and assembly shops are located in one place. The enterprise is the most modern plant with technological process control system and meets international ecologic security standards.

President of Turkmenistan highly rated activities of the enterprise. He also familiarized with cars, trucks and agriculture equipment, which were demonstrated at the GM Powertrain Uzbekistan.

Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov highly rated automobiles and equipment, produced in Uzbekistan, their design and quality. Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov was impressed with new family mini-van Chevrolet Orlando, production of which will be launched at GM Uzbekistan. The venture plans to launch production of mini-van in the first quarter 2014.

The official visit of Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov to Uzbekistan ended. It is expected that the visit will boost relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
