Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the city of Khankendi, where he was warmly welcomed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

As part of the program of the Uzbek President’s visit, the two leaders toured a joint garment enterprise, which they officially inaugurated in November 2024 during a meeting on the sidelines of the UN Climate Summit in Baku.

The garment factory occupies an area of 1.2 hectares, with total investment in the project reaching 6.2 million US dollars. The implementation of the project is expected to create 800 jobs.

The enterprise is designed to produce between 3 and 5 million units of knitwear annually. The finished products will be supplied to both the domestic market and for export.
