Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 July, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The Azerbaijani leader warmly congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his birthday, wishing him strong health, well-being, and continued success in his state activities for the sustainable development and prosperity of Uzbekistan.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the productive outcomes of the state visit by the President of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan in early July. They emphasized the importance of implementing the agreements reached during the talks and the decisions of the second meeting of the High-Level Intergovernmental Council.

It was noted that these agreements will further strengthen the allied Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations and expand multifaceted cooperation.

Since the beginning of this year, mutual trade volume has increased by 30 percent. Work is underway to develop a portfolio of promising joint projects, including the creation of an industrial zone and a joint logistics company.

One of the key achievements highlighted was the signing of a Production Sharing Agreement for a strategic project in the oil and gas sector.

The importance of preparations for major joint events marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was also emphasized.
