President: Uzbekistan Ready to Provide Free Medical Treatment for Palestinian Children and Women

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 November, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke at the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit.

The event, organized under the auspices of Saudi Arabia, gathered leaders and heads of government from key countries in the Middle East, Central and South Asia, as well as Africa.

The summit addressed issues related to uniting international efforts to de-escalate the situation in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the swift political resolution of the conflict.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud for organizing the summit, which focused on the Palestinian issue, one of the most urgent topics on the global agenda.

It was noted with regret that since the Riyadh meeting in 2023, the scale of the conflict has expanded, affecting Lebanon.
The President of Uzbekistan fully supported initiatives aimed at achieving a peaceful and diplomatic resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

He expressed hope that the summit would come up with effective mechanisms and specific actions at both global and regional levels.
It was emphasized that priority should be given to the immediate cessation of hostilities, the establishment of safe humanitarian corridors, and the start of peace negotiations. These tasks should be under the constant supervision of the UN and the Security Council.

The President of Uzbekistan stated that the Palestinian people, with their ancient culture and history, have the right to create an independent and sovereign state with its capital in East Jerusalem, within the 1967 borders.
In this context, Uzbekistan supported the activities of the Global Alliance for a Two-State Solution, established at the initiative of Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore, to prevent a humanitarian crisis in Palestine and Lebanon, the expansion of international assistance to those affected was proposed, including support for the UN Special Agency and other related structures.

The President of Uzbekistan announced the country's readiness to provide free medical treatment for Palestinian children and women affected by the conflict at Uzbek clinics.

He also proposed discussing practical assistance to the Palestinian people at the "Gulf Arab States - Central Asia" summit, which will be held next year in Samarkand.

Special attention was given to the protection and preservation of the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as other unique historical and cultural monuments in Jerusalem.

In conclusion, the President of Uzbekistan expressed hope that this summit would serve as a significant practical step toward resolving the situation in the Middle East.

As a result of the summit, a joint resolution was adopted, in which the parties reaffirmed their commitment to the swift search for a political and diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
