Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has begun a state visit to Azerbaijan. According to the President’s press secretary, Sherzod Asadov, the visit will include stops in Baku, Khankendi, Shusha, and Aghdam.

Today, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will hold the second meeting of the High-Level Intergovernmental Council, take part in a ceremonial tree planting for the "Uzbekistan" park, and inaugurate the new building of the Uzbek Embassy in Baku.

The visit will continue the next day in the Karabakh region, where Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev will tour a jointly established textile factory in Khankendi and visit the "Imarat" historical and architectural complex in Aghdam.

A comprehensive package of agreements has been prepared for the visit, particularly in the field of industrial cooperation.

This intensive program underscores the unprecedented level of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations, which were officially elevated to a strategic alliance in 2024, and represents a logical continuation of the agreements reached during previous meetings between the two leaders.
