The session summed up results of social-economic development of Uzbekistan for 2012 and approved main perspectives of economic programme for 2013.

President Islam Karimov said that Fund for reconstruction, capital repair and equipment of educational establishments was reorganized into Fund for reconstruction, capital repair and equipment of educational and medical establishments.

This helped to direct over 225 billion soums to construction and reconstruction of 154 medical establishments for 7,500 beds and outpatient medical and clinical establishments for 11,000 patients. The Fund issued 8 billion soums to equipment of medical institutions in 2012, Uzbek leader said.

He said that launch of new department of cardiology under Republican Specialized Surgery Center was important event in 2012. The department is equipped with new equipment, which allow to treat patients with heart problems in high level.

President said that Uzbekistan also pays to development of sport, first of all, children sport to strengthen health of population. Some 108 children sport objects were commission in 2012, of which 16 were swimming pools, new stadium for 10,000 seats in Navoi, tennis school in Nukus, etc.

He said that currently 1.6 million children at the age between six and 15 are engaged in various sports, which makes up 35.6% of total number of children.

Islam Karmov also underlined that new football stadiums Bunyodkor and Locomotive in Tashkent, Metallurg in Bekabad, which meet international standards, were launched. Special sport wrestling school was created in Tashkent.
