Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed creating a free economic zone (FEZ) called Cinema Park with an area of 50 hectares in Tashkent region for the development of the film industry.
Similar “cinema zones” are also planned to be created in Bukhara and Samarkand regions.
The President emphasized the need to improve the ideological, artistic and technical level of films and TV series, calling for all the necessary conditions to be provided to creative performers.
He also announced the allocation of at least 100 billion soums annually for cultural and educational events, with a focus on the development of theatrical art, the creation of new schools to develop national traditions and the popularization of national music and dance.
The President also called for support for literature, proposing to exempt publishing houses from taxes for 5 years and provide preferential loans to improve their material and technical base.
