Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit the Central Asian University for Environmental Studies and Climate Change (Green University).

During his visit, the president will familiarize himself with the university’s activities and participate in the presentation of investment projects aimed at developing a circular economy.

Green University was established based on the Presidential Decree from 31 May 2023, as part of measures to transform the environmental sector and environmental protection in Uzbekistan.

The university began accepting students in September 2023 and aims to become a leading educational center in the region for addressing environmental issues, promoting regional cooperation, and implementing innovative environmental technologies.

The university’s goal is to train specialists capable of effectively managing environmental challenges at both local and international levels, as well as to support Uzbekistan’s scientific and intellectual potential through environmental research and innovation.
