President of Uzbekistan to Pay Working Visit to Turkmenistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Turkmenistan on 4–5 August at the invitation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to take part in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
The forum will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone and will bring together UN Secretary-General António Guterres, heads of state and government, as well as representatives of international and regional organizations.
The agenda includes discussions on enhancing international cooperation to strengthen transport connectivity and simplify trade procedures, promote economic transformation, increase resilience to climate change and other environmental challenges, and advance progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals. The conference is expected to conclude with the adoption of the Avaza Political Declaration and a program of action.
In addition, during the visit, the President of Uzbekistan will take part in an event dedicated to preparations for the Seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Leaders and hold a series of bilateral talks.
