Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 October, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Orkhan Sultanov, Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Azerbaijan, who is on a working visit to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the head of the Azerbaijani service conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to Shavkat Mirziyoyev from President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The parties discussed further deepening of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations, alliance, and multifaceted cooperation, focusing on the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
They noted with satisfaction the active contacts and fruitful exchanges between the two countries at various levels, as well as the steady growth in mutual trade and investment. The steps taken to support and accelerate cooperation projects, including those in the cultural and humanitarian spheres, were also discussed.
Special attention was given to the importance of strengthening inter-agency cooperation and effectively coordinating intelligence services in combating terrorism, extremism, radicalism, cybercrime, and other modern security threats.
In addition, the parties addressed issues of expanding practical cooperation aimed at supporting the economic development of Afghanistan.
