President of Uzbekistan named as “Man of the Year in Asia” in 2018

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Asian Journalists Association (AJA) named President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev as the “Man of the Year in Asia” in 2018 in the "Politics" category.

According to The Korea Times, the President of Uzbekistan is noted for his efforts to establish peace and interaction in Central Asia.

AJA said that the head of Uzbekistan, after being elected to the post of President in December 2016, is carrying out reforms to liberalize the economy and improve the protection of human rights. The association stressed that political prisoners have been released in the country.
