President of Uzbekistan holds meeting with delegation of major UAE companies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 January, during his visit to Abu Dhabi, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with a delegation of major companies from the United Arab Emirates, led by the Minister of Investments and CEO of the ADQ Holding, Mohammad Hassan al-Suwaidi.

The meeting was attended by representatives of leading UAE companies, including the CEO of AD Ports Group Mohammad Juma Al-Shamsi, the head of Tadweer Ali Al-Daheri, the leader of Plenary Group Mustafa Fakhoury, and the CEO of DUCAB Mohammad Abdul Rahman Al-Mutawa. These companies are among the global leaders in their sectors, with a combined asset base exceeding 200 billion dollars.

The discussions focused on the prospects for expanding cooperation and increasing investment in high-tech industries. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the dynamically developing partnership in various areas of the economy. Special attention was given to joint initiatives in attracting investments, industrial development, and the implementation of advanced technologies.

Further steps were outlined to deepen collaboration with each partner. Priority areas include projects in infrastructure, urban development, energy, transportation and logistics, mining, electrical engineering, and municipal services.

Agreements were reached on the swift implementation of joint projects, including the introduction of innovative technologies, the development of rare-earth metal deposits, the expansion of regional railway routes, the construction of "dry" ports, the production of cable products, and the promotion of public-private partnership (PPP) initiatives in education and healthcare.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on preparing a "roadmap" covering key areas of cooperation.
