Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Today, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation with boxers Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev and Lazizbek Mullajonov, who secured two more gold medals for Uzbekistan’s sports delegation at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris, setting a new record for the number of gold medals.

"I want to express my gratitude and congratulate you for proving once again that Uzbekistan has no equals in boxing worldwide. You have become true heroes of our nation, setting a great example for the youth of New Uzbekistan. The entire global community has witnessed what the sons of our country are capable of, and I am proud of you," the head of state said.

The President also emphasized that yesterday’s victories by the Uzbek boxers brought joy to the entire nation and extended his warm greetings to all Olympians achieving high results.

In response, the champions expressed their gratitude for the trust placed in them and the attention and opportunities provided, which allowed them to achieve such victories. They promised to continue raising the flag of their homeland high in the future.
