President of Uzbekistan and Emir of Qatar Hold Telephone Conversation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 July, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The parties discussed in detail the further deepening of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Qatar, as well as the expansion of practical cooperation across key areas.
At the beginning of the conversation, the President of Uzbekistan praised the active role of the Emir of Qatar in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
The two sides expressed satisfaction with the steady development of bilateral dialogue and the intensification of contacts at various levels. It was noted that recent months have seen a positive dynamic in mutual trade and investment, with joint projects being implemented in industrial cooperation and infrastructure modernization.
Special attention during the talks was devoted to preparations for upcoming high-level events. These include the first meeting of the Coordination Council chaired by the foreign ministers of both countries, sessions of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council, and the holding of the Uzbekistan–Qatar Business Forum.
The leaders also reviewed the agenda for future high-level contacts and expressed mutual interest in further strengthening comprehensive cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar.
