President of Uzbekistan and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Discussed Further Development of Multifaceted Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed key issues regarding the further development of multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia.

At the start of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted the significance and timeliness of organizing the summit in Riyadh, emphasizing its relevance. 

Particular attention was given to the ongoing active contacts and exchanges between the two countries at various levels. The increase in mutual trade and investments, as well as the growing number of joint ventures, was also noted.

The sides discussed the prospects for implementing new joint projects in areas such as "green" energy, transportation infrastructure modernization, communications, agriculture, and industry.

The upcoming high-level events were also addressed, including the second summit of the "Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council" dialogue, scheduled to take place in Samarkand in 2025.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for creating favorable conditions for Uzbek pilgrims performing Hajj and Umrah.

Additionally, the sides exchanged views on regional issues, including the peaceful resolution of the situation in the Middle East.

At the conclusion of the visit, the President of Uzbekistan departed for Baku, completing his program in Riyadh.
