Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Pursuant to the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 9 March 2017 “On the preparation of athletes of Uzbekistan for the XXXII Summer Olympic and XVI Paralympic Games 2020 in Tokyo (Japan)” and in order to implement the instructions, which were commissioned during the video selector on 4 September  2019, dedicated to the development of physical culture and sports, in each region of the country, activities are carried out by representatives of the National Olympic Committee.

Today, on 19 August, a reporting videoconference was held, in which reports of representatives of the regions on the work done over the past period were heard. The event was held on the ZOOM platform, and representatives of the NOC took part in it.

It should be noted that the meeting was held in suspense, as the President of the NOC noted that he was not satisfied with the activities and reports of the representatives of the regions.

“Dear colleagues, we need to pay more attention to the social status of athletes. What is the state of their families? Are the athletes themselves healthy? Does it appear that the necessary assistance is provided by the supporting organizations assigned to them? For us, the health of athletes comes first. Based on this, I want to ask you to take your duties seriously and with full responsibility,” said the President of the NOC.

At the end of the event, Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov instructed the sports advisor Nazirjon Khudaykulov to review the reports of the representatives, organize an additional meeting and discuss further plans. Also, in connection with the celebration of the Independence Day of Uzbekistan, it was instructed to organize online sports competitions in each region.
