At Tashkent airport, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and President of Russia Dmitriy Medvedev had a brief talk, UzA reported.
This visit is part of the traditional political dialogue of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia, which meet regularly to exchange views on a wide range of issues of Uzbek-Russian cooperation.
At the upcoming negotiations on 14 June, the sides will discuss trade and economic relations, which are mutually beneficial and are steadily expanding even during the global financial crisis.
In 2010, bilateral trade between the two states increased almost 1.5 times reaching USD 6.4 billion. The same dynamics is observed in the current year.
