According to the press service of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev signed amendments to the intergovernmental agreement with Uzbekistan on international road transport.
Currently between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan there is no bus services for passengers, which creates inconvenience during border crossing.
The protocol establishes legal norms for regular, irregular and transit transportation of passengers by road.
This document will give a positive impetus to further development of trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, the minister said. The protocol will also increase the mobility of the population and strengthen bilateral relations.
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan plan to launch passenger routes before the end of this year. Regular bus routes will be opened between the major cities of the countries.
