President of Kazakhstan instructs to work out issue of creating an international trade zone “Central Asia”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to work on establishment of an international trade zone in Turkestan region with Uzbekistan.

The head of Kazakhstan noted that the possibility of creating an international trade zone “Central Asia” should be considered.

In his opinion, this will give impetus to development of the economy of both Turkestan region and the entire Kazakhstan.

“We have the potential to increase trade turnover with Uzbekistan to US$5 billion a year by 2020. In this regard, I instruct the Government, together with the akimat of Turkestan region, to work with the Uzbek side on establishment of the international trade zone and a new international checkpoint “Turkestan”, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
