In a letter, President Nathan said he is confident that Uzbekistan will continue to enjoy economic and social progress under Mr Karimov’s leadership.

He added that both countries enjoy warm and friendly relations, which have strengthened following Mr Karimov’s state visit to Singapore in January last year.

Mr Nathan said he looks forward to working with Mr Karimov to further enhance the growing ties between Singapore and Uzbekistan.
