The President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov participated in the informal meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of States held on 10 June in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Participants discussed the reforms in the framework of the Commonwealth, and the issues concerning the improvement of the efficiency of its organs. A remarkable fact about the summit was the fact that for the first time it was attended by all Heads of CIS member-states. This was taken by the participants as a signal of positive changes in the operation of the organization, UzA reported.

During his visit in Saint Petersburg, President Karimov also attended the 11th International Economic Forum, UzA reported.
