The protocol has been inked on 14 June 2011 in Tashkent. The agreement was signed between Ambassador of Singapore to Uzbekistan Zulkifli bin Baharuddin and chairperson of the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan Botirjon Parpiev.

President of Uzbekistan entrusted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan to direct corresponding notification to Singaporean side about implementation of inter-state procedures, necessary for entering into force of the agreement.

Preliminary agreement on avoiding double taxation has been signed on 24 July 2008. The protocol provides tax bodies of two states wider opportunities for exchange information on taxation issues.
