Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- IFC Azerbaijan-Central Asia Financial Markets Infrastructure Advisory Services (ACAFI) Project in cooperation with Federation of Accountants, Auditors and Consultants of Uzbekistan (FAACU) held a presentation for representatives of local banks on issues of introduction of risk certification programme in Uzbekistan. The ACAFI Project is implemented in cooperation with the Government of the Switzerland.

At the event, certificated trainers of the FAACU presented reports on foundations of banking risks as market, loan and operation risks. Trainers briefed the participants on impact of international financial regulations, including Basel Agreement, to risks management.

In March 2012, the IFC signed agreement with Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) to train specialists to certification on direction of “Foundation of banking risks” in nine CIS states, including in Uzbekistan.

In order to introduce professional education and certification on risks management in Uzbekistan, the IFC attracted and signed agreement with the FAACU. Within the agreement, the FAACU trainers received professional knowledge on direction of “Foundation of banking risks” for further training of specialists at financial institutions to GARP exams.

Risk certification programme provides good opportunity to candidates to improve their knowledge and understanding of risk management processes in the view of international experience. The programme is designed both for specialists on risk management and specialists in accounting, audit, internal control and law. This will help them better determine and manage risks in financial sector in Uzbekistan.
