The system was developed within the joint project of the UNDP and Supreme Court of Uzbekistan “Civil Justice Reform: Effective Court Management”.
The presentation of the system will be held within an international seminar “Introduction of ICT into activities of the courts – important factor of raising efficiency of judicial procedures: advanced experience of foreign countries”, which will be held in Bukhara on 18 September 2013.
The information system of electronic legal procedure E-SUD is directed at simplifying submission of application to civil courts, increase transparency of the court activities, introduction of e-document flow into court operations and automatize activities of courts.
The system allows to submit application and corresponding documents to courts in electronic form, follow progress of the case, receive notification and process documents of the courts via electronic system, familiarize with the decision of the courts, etc.
Besides, the system will allow the judges or court workers to generate statistic or other reports on activities of civil courts. The reports are produced without one click.
The system E-SUD will allow to decrease number of steps in processing of documents, submitted to courts, from 56 to 25 and number of visits to courts, court session, and improve transparency of courts.
Representatives of Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, Senate and Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Justice, courts, law enforcement bodies, international organizations, foreign experts and others will attend the presentation.
At the end of the presentation, the participants will discuss issues of further improving current legislation to introduce ICT into work of the courts and develop concrete proposals.
UNDP “Civil Justice Reform: Effective court management” project offers technical assistance in strengthening the institutional framework of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s civil courts. This is achieved through the development of favorable conditions for the further improvement of civil justice in legislation and in practice, through enhancing population access through e-justice implementation, and through enhancing the enforcement of court decisions.
The project is also working to strengthen the institutional framework of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s civil courts through increasing public awareness of the legal measures of human rights protection, and through providing enhanced civil justice efficiency.
