Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At a video conference meeting led by the President of Uzbekistan, the introduction of preferential tariffs for night charging of electric vehicles was announced.
Considering that the number of electric vehicles in Uzbekistan has increased 10 times and reached 35 thousand, there is a need to install new charging stations to develop the electrical infrastructure.
It is planned to place charging stations in parking lots of government agencies, shopping centers, hotels and recreation areas.
In Uzbekistan, it will be allowed to install charging stations with a capacity of up to 22 kilowatts on the streets and in apartment buildings, as well as up to 7 kilowatts in private homes.
In addition, a night tariff will be introduced to encourage charging of electric vehicles at home. Residents who install meters on their chargers will be able to take advantage of a reduced rate for overnight charging.
