What is the level of economic activity of the regions?
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research has assessed the barometer of economic activity (BEA) of the regions of Uzbekistan.
The BEA allows for regular diagnostics of the development of the regional economy, and on this basis, to take measures to prevent a decrease in the economic activity of the territories, to create healthy inter-regional competition.
To assess the BEA, 3 components are used (industrial, entrepreneurial, foreign trade activity), including 12 indicators. According to the results of the study, in 2021, relatively favorable economic activity is noted in Tashkent, Samarkand, Namangan, Kashkadarya, Fergana regions.
The main factor of positive results in Samarkand and Ferghana regions was the indicators of foreign trade, Namangan and Kashkadarya regions - entrepreneurial activity. Compared to 2020, a positive upward trend in BEA is observed in Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Khorezm, Bukhara, Ferghana and Syrdarya regions.
