Road to the sea: Uzbekistan expands new opportunities for access to world ports and sea carriers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 19 to 21 October this year, the 2nd International Conference and Exhibition "Caspian Ports and Shipping 2021" was held in the port city of Aktau (Republic of Kazakhstan). A delegation of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari took part in the work of this event.
Participation in this event dedicated to the development of international transit transport corridors using seaports is of great importance for Uzbekistan, since due to the uniqueness of the geographical location, the formation of a developed multimodal transport system using various types of transport in transportation is one of the urgent tasks for the development of the economy of our country.
Attending this event provided an opportunity to directly discuss topical issues in the field of cargo transportation and the development of transport and transit corridors in the format of an open and friendly dialogue with representatives of international organizations, administrations of sea carriers and ports, shipping and large transport and logistics companies.
Also, within the framework of the international forum, Uzbekiston Temir Yollari signed Memorandums of Understanding and Cooperation with the Caspian Sea Port Aktau Sea North Terminal and the national shipping company of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kazmortransflot. In August of this year, similar work was carried out with the seaports of Aktau and Kuryk, as well as the dry port of Khorgos (Republic of Kazakhstan) and the Russian logistics company Ruscon, which has terminals in the seaport of Novorossiysk. At the same time, within the framework of the Conference, Memorandums of Cooperation in the field of container transportation were signed between Uzzheldorcontainer JSC and the Caspian ports Kuryk and Aktau North Sea Terminal.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan expresses high interest and desire for mutual cooperation with the ports of the Eurasian continent: the Caspian, Black, Mediterranean and Baltic Seas, as well as the ports of South and Southeast Asia.
