Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Practicing sabotage actions behind the lines of a conditional enemy at the Termez mountain range by servicemen of special forces units of Russia and Uzbekistan took place.
In the course of practical operations, the reconnaissance groups of the Special Forces carried out a landing from the Mi-171 and N-215 transport-combat helicopters using a parachute-free method, using launching devices. Landing with the use of elements of mountain equipment was carried out from a height of 25 meters to unprepared sites.
After landing, the special forces conducted reconnaissance of the area, found and destroyed the camp of conditional illegal armed groups.
Also, the reconnaissance groups worked out the issues of removing the sentry, conducting observation, making a march of many kilometers to the assembly point.
About 1,500 servicemen of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan are taking part in the joint Russian-Uzbek exercise at the Termez training ground.
The Russian-Uzbek exercise is taking place against the backdrop of the destabilization of the situation in neighboring Afghanistan in order to work out the issues of repelling possible threats and practical interaction to ensure security and maintain stability in the Central Asian region.
Coordinated joint actions to neutralize the expanding range of challenges and threats to military security and conflict potential along the perimeter of the CSTO borders will be a series of joint exercises under the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which will be held by the end of this year on the territory of Tajikistan and Russia.
