Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
On 3 December 2016, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Chairman of the Executive Committee – Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev.
Lebedev is heading the mission of CIS observers at the upcoming extraordinary elections of the President of Uzbekistan on 4 December.
According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed the practical issues of the CIS Observation Mission.
In particular, Sergey Lebedev briefed on the main points of the Interim Report on the observation process of the preparation for the elections, submitted by the Mission on 29 November.
The sides also exchanged views on prospects for further development of cooperation within the CIS, including those related to the preparation for the next meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, to be held in April 2017 in Tashkent.
