Int’l observers receives information on presidential elections
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan held a briefing for international observers, who arrived in Uzbekistan to observe presidential elections.

Representatives of OSCE ODIHR, CIS, SCO, OIC, A-WEB, international observers, mass media attended the event.

It was said that the election process is taking place on open and transparent manner in line with the legislation.

It was noted that 9,383 polling stations were created in Uzbekistan. Several polling stations were created at diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad.

All polling stations provide opportunities to people with special needs to vote during the presidential elections. The ballots on Braille alphabet were issued for visually impaired people.

The programme of measures on further improving legal culture of voters was adopted for the first time in history of national election process. Over 104,000 events were organized within the event.

The presidential candidates started their agitation campaign from 28 October. They received equal opportunities to promote their pre-election programme to the voters.

Representatives of OSCE ODIHR, CIS, SCO, OIC, A-WEB and international observers arrived in Uzbekistan to observe the presidential elections. About 500 foreign observers arrived in Uzbekistan. Over 37,500 observers from political parties will also observe elections.

Election body said that it will organize online briefings on 4 December to report on voting process.
