Center of innovations and industrial cooperation presented

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 February 2016, Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communication of Uzbekistan organized a press conference dedicated to training of highly skilled ICT specialists for various sectors and spheres of economy.
First Deputy Minister of Development of Information Technologies and Communication of Uzbekistan Alisher Fayzullaev, Rector of Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) Utkir Hamdamov and Rector of Inha University in Tashkent Sherzod Shermatov participated in the event.
During the press conference, TUIT rector Utkir Hamdamov briefed the participants on activities of the university in training cadres and reforms in the educational institute.
In his presentation, IUT Sherzod Shermatov touched the issues of cooperation between university and industry.
He said that Inha University in Tashkent founded a Center of Innovations and Industrial Cooperation.
IUT rector underlined that new center was created in order to expand scientific-research and innovative potential of the university, ensure commercialization of the results of scientific developments and intellectual activities. It will also create necessary conditions for development of professional skills of the university students via attracting them to development of software products, transfer of innovative products and services both in internal and external markets, he said.
The Center will also contribute to creation of conditions for lifting professional education at the IUT to new level and form new way of thinking and necessary professional skills of students in close collaboration with practitioners in the process of research and practice, rector added.
Mr. Shermatov noted that the Center will cooperate with companies and organizations to realize projects in ICT sector. IUT students will be attracted to implementation of these projects. This cooperation will allow companies to receive ready products for their needs, while students get additional knowledge and experience on realization of real projects. At the same time, the companies will receive opportunity to prepare specialists, who they can hire in future. He said that both companies and students will win from this cooperation.
During his presentation, Sherzod Shermatov will also present information on products, which were created by IUT students.
