Draft law “On labour protection” published for discussion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan published a draft law “On labour protection” in new edition for discussion.
The draft law was placed at Single interactive state services portal and at the website of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan.
According to the press service of the Ministry, the draft law was developed as it is necessary to review old law in connection with adoption of new laws and legislative documents.
In particular, it is necessary to review requirements for labour conditions, organization of security and protection of labour at the enterprises.
The ministry said that there is high level of traumatism and professional illnesses in some industries of economy, as well as poor control over technical security at the enterprises, as well as poor technological and production discipline. So, it is necessary to strengthen responsibility for non-implementation of labour protection rules.
The draft law also determined sources of forming and using resources of the fund for protection of labour at the enterprises. The document introduces nine new articles in line with international practice.
The draft law also sets guarantee for compensation for work in unfavorable labour conditions and mandatory periodical assessment of labour conditions and state expertise of their results, etc.
The document also sets rights and liabilities of employees and employers for labour protection, as well as liabilities for violation of labour protection requirements. It also sets norm of mandatory investigation of accidents and professional illnesses, as well as compensation of damages to employees in case of harm to their health.
It also sets ban for use of labour of women, under ages and people with special needs, as well as elder people at hard works and works with harmful and dangerous conditions.
