Uzbekistan, UK to sign memorandum to fight transnational crime

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom are planning to sign a memorandum on cooperation in the fight against transnational crime, Jahon news agency reported quoting the British Ambassador to Uzbekistan George Edgar.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, George Edgar is completing his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.
Speaking to Jahon agency, Edgar said in recent years, there has been significant progress in bilateral cooperation. This applies, above all, the political sphere. In particular, a number of visits made at the governmental level, he said.
“During the meetings, the sides discussed issues of further expansion of relations in various spheres, including in the fight against transnational crime. It is expected to sign a memorandum on cooperation in this area, including trafficking in human beings, arms and drug trafficking,” he said.
