Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) held an expanded session of the Executive COmmiteee to discuss participation of the party in upcoming elections to the Legislative Committee of Oliy Majlis and local Councils of People’s Deputies.
The elections are integral part of legal democratic state with strong civil society and main form of expression of will of people, participation of the citizens in governance of the government and public.
At the event, the participants analyzed activities of the party after 2009 parliamentary elections, achievements and shortages. They considered prevention of shortages and successful participation of the party in elections, scheduled for December 2014.
The party approved a plan of events, which reflects pre-election agitation works of the party and all events of election campaign. Within them, the party held preparation works to elections, studied legislation on election, trained observers, authorized and trusted representatives.
Over 80 events for members of the party were organized in the regions of Uzbekistan within the project “New elections – quality new opportunities for society” and “Assistants for elections”.
The party organized over 400 seminars for heads of primary election organizations to prepare for elections. Over 12,000 representatives of UzLiDeP attended them.
It was said that the party developed a draft pre-election programme (platform) of the party. The party also worked on forming cadre reserves.
The party underlined that it prepared list of 800 people, who will be nominated as candidates to Legislative Chamber. Another 2,400 people will be nominated to participation at the elections to regional Councils of People’s Deputies and 10,600 people – district and city Councils of People’s Deputies. Overall, 13,800 people were selected to the elections.
They are participating in training at the territorial centres of political education and they will attend party events in places.
UzLiDeP said that it conducted works to train supervisors at the elections. Overall, 50,000 people were selected as supervisors.
The event determined priority tasks related to participation of the party in pre-election campaign, which started on 15 September.
It was stated that the party should mobilize all its forces to ensure successful participation of the party in elections and achievement of good results.
