Bukhara region’s economy grows by 8% in 2013

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth of the gross regional product (GRP) of Bukhara region made up 8% in 2013, the session of the local MPs said.
The volume of industrial output of the region rose by 10.8% in 2013, production of consumer goods – 2.8%, agriculture production – 6.6%, construction works – 13.9%, retail trade turnover – 14.9% and services – 16.4%.
The region attracted investments for US$514.9 million and implemented 1,172 projects. This helped t increase industrial production by 65.5 billion soums.
About 1,540 new small businesses were created in 2013 in the region and their total number reached 8,724. The bank allocated 314.9 billion soums to small businesses. Their share in the gross regional product reached 66.8%.
UzA reported that about 74,400 new jobs were created in Bukhara region in 2013.
