Practical guide for social enterprises created in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A practical guide “Manual on creation and provision of sustainable and efficient social enterprise” is being developed in Uzbekistan.
On 25 October, the draft practical guide “Manual on creation and provision of sustainable and efficient social enterprise” was discussed at the roundtable, which was organized by the joint project of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and UNDP in Uzbekistan “Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership”.
About 40 people – managers and specialists of social enterprises from across the country – participated at the roundtable and discussed the draft manual, which is intended to be a handbook for specialists of social enterprises.
The leaders of social enterprises have the opportunity to share their views on improving the manual and discussed perspectives of further developing social entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan.
Mr. Nadir Khudayarov, Project Specialist on Legal Issues, and Abduhofiz Tangirkulov, Project Specialist on Tax Issues, presented an information on creation of social enterprises and taxation issues.
Nadir Khudayarov said that social entrepreneurship is a entrepreneurship activity directed at mitigating or solving social problems.
He said that the achievement of social well-being is the primary goal of social entrepreneurship and receiving of economic income is necessary for ensuring sustainable initiative.
The practical guide “Manual on creation and provision of sustainable and efficient social enterprise” will cover issues of registration of social enterprises, doing business, taxation and other issues.
The Concept of further deepening democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the country is served as the impetus for many successful initiatives in the development of social partnership , and not only among government , non-governmental and commercial organizations , but also by international organizations.
A joint project of the UNDP and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population the Republic of Uzbekistan “Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership” - one of the most successful examples of initiatives inspired by the concept.
The purpose of the project - Promoting effective public employment, particularly of vulnerable groups, through the development and implementation of innovative forms and methods of social partnership between government, civil society and business entities.
In the framework of the project it is piloting establishment of social enterprises with new jobs and organization of vocational training for people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. Currently, the project has made significant progress in the development of social enterprises and set up a national network of social enterprises. To sustain these results and activities in this area, it is planning to publish a practical guide “Manual on creation and provision of sustainable and efficient social enterprise”.
