Uzbekenergo plans to attract WB, ADB loans

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekenergo state joint stock company is holding negotiations with the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on attraction of loans for implementation of the project on modernization of the system on electricity accounting.
This was announced by the head of department on perspectives of power development of Uzbekenergo Ravshan Artykov during the international conference “Energy-2010: innovation, solutions, perspectives” in Tashkent.
In particular, Uzbekenergo plans to attract the World Bank loan for US$74 million and ADB loan for US$61 million. Total cost of the projects is US$184 million.
Within the project, it is planned to install electricity meters at domestic consumers and business entities in five regions of Uzbekistan.
