Polish deputy economy minister hold talks at Uzbek Foreign Ministry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Poland led by Deputy Minister of Economy Rafal Baniak was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan on 27 May 2011.

The Uzbek ministry said that the delegation, which includes Polish officials, heads of leading economic structures of Poland, earlier participated at the fourth session of the Uzbek-Polish Intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and National Exhibition, as well as business forum in Tashkent.

Poland is traditionally largest trade partner of Uzbekistan in Eastern Europe. In 2010, the trade turnover between states exceeded US$100 million. Trade turnover between two states continued to grow in the past period of 2011.

During the meeting at the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, it was said that the regular dialogue within the intergovernmental commission, meetings of business circles and other events are help to strengthen mutual understanding, expanding trade-economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Poland.

The sides underlined that perspective directions f cooperation are creation of joint high technological productions in such spheres as machinery, electronic and electrotechnical, mining, chemical, textile, food, agriculture and other industries.

The Polish side expressed interest in participation of the projects included into the programme on development and modernization of industry of Uzbekistan in 2011-2015, as well as in Navoi free industrial and economic zone, where created unique investment conditions.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on other issues of the Uzbek-Polish relations.
