Pilot model of hokimyat’s information service presented in Jizzakh
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An interregional presentation of pilot model of modern information service of hokimyat has been held at the Jizzakh regional administration. The information service was created within the joint project of the UNDP and the Government of Uzbekistan “Local Governance Support Project: Participation and Partnership”.

Sayfiddin Ismailov, governor of Jizzakh region, participated at the event along with deputy governors of cities and districts of Jizzakh, Samarkand and Syrdarya regions.

It was noted that the UNDP project and administrations of Jizzakh and Namangan regions created six information services in two pilot regions – one information service at regional, city and district administrations level.

The goal of these services to develop and implement information policy of administrations, provide information to population on its activity, cover social-economic development of the region, etc.

Head of the UNDP project Mr. Isroilov said that information services help administrations to hold press conferences and briefings on actual issues, which allows to cover important works of administrations in various area.

It was said that all information services of administations organized 165 press conferences, briefings and other events of administrations. Some 155 TV programmes and 50 video reels were developed and about 230 articles were published at newspapers. Over 400 information materials were published at Internet editions. The websites of information services were created and they are updated each week.

After the presentation, the participants familiarized with information service and its activities, equipment and tools, provided by the UNDP project.
